Week-Long Orientation-cum-Training Programme for Newly Joined Accounts Assistants Concludes in Kargil and Leh.
Kargil, September 25, 2026: A week-long orientation-cum-training programme for newly joined Accounts Assistants concluded simultaneously in Kargil and Leh today.
The concluding ceremony was held both online and offline at Kargil and Leh respectively. It was attended by the Commissioner/Secretary, Finance Department Sh. Tsewang Tharchin as Chief Guest at NIELIT Leh besides Kaneez Fatima Director Finance, Jigmet Namgyal, Joint Director Finance, Ajaz Hussain Chief Accounts Officer were also present. Joint Director Finance, Iftikhar Hussain, along with Chief Accounts Officers Shamim Ahmad Wazir, Shabir Hussain and Sajad Hussain, besides Accounts Officers and the newly appointed Accounts Assistants of the Finance Department attended the ceremony at Conference Hall Baroo Kargil.
Commissioner/Secretary Finance, Sh. Tsewang Tharchin interacted with the trainees and sought their feedback on the week-long training conducted by Finance Department to familiarize the new entrants about the general structure of Accounts and rules governing the finance and accounts matters with special relevance to the UT Ladakh. He urged the new Accounts Assistants to submit their feedback for further improvement of the contents of the training course for making it more relevant to the challenged being faced by the new employees. He also asked the new employees to take the responsibility and equip them with necessary skills/knowledge to meet the challenges in the course of official working.
Later, continuing the ceremony in offline mode in Conference Hall Baroo, while addressing the newly joined Accounts Assistants, Joint Director Finance Iftikhar Hussain said that the training programme serves as a foundation for understanding the roles, responsibilities, rules and procedures associated with financial management. He emphasised that the Finance Department is an important tool of the government for ensuring proper implementation of financial rules and regulations with sincerity and diligence. He hoped that that the orientation-cum-training shall prove to be and important step while discharge of the official duties by the new entrants when they official assume the charge in the respective department/offices.
He urged the new Accounts Assistants to maintain decorum, protocol, discipline and integrity in the discharge of their official duties and asked them to perform their responsibilities with utmost sincerity and commitment.
Chief Accounts Officer Shamim Ahmad Wazir advised the Accounts Assistants to apply the knowledge and practices acquired during the training in their respective offices. He wished them success in their professional journey and encouraged them to discharge their duties with dedication.
Chief Accounts Officer Sajad Hussain, in his concluding remarks, stressed the importance of proper maintenance of work ethics and upkeep of official records besides adherence to prescribed procedures and hoped that the training imparted to the new employees shall be helpful in discharging their duties conveniently while they assume initial duties in their respective offices. Earlier Sh. Sajad Hussain, held a training session on the concluding day on the topics assigned to him.
During the concluding session, feedback and suggestions from the newly joined Accounts Assistants were also obtained regarding the training programme and its future improvement.
