DC Kargil Chairs Meeting to Finalize Arrangements for Independence Day 2025 Kargil, August 02, 2025 - In view of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, the Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar chaired a meeting with heads of various departments and stakeholders to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. The DC emphasized timely execution of all tasks with due respect to national and religious sentiments. It was decided that the main venue will remain the same, and the flag hoisting ceremony along with the National Anthem will be held at 9:55 AM sharp. Due to the observance of Arbaeen (Chehlum), marking the 40th day of Muharram, it was unanimously decided to keep the celebrations modest. Only limited cultural items will be presented this year, focusing on patriotic skits and songs performed by school children. Schools and colleges have been directed to prepare short, meaningful skits based on themes such as drug abuse awareness, social causes, and national integration. The number of skits may be increased while maintaining brevity and relevance. Participation will be mainly from government schools and colleges, including NCC units, and all participants must undergo multiple rehearsals to maintain discipline and precision. Practice sessions will begin from 7th August, culminating in a full dress rehearsal on 13th August at 10:00 AM, with proper speech delivery. The Deputy Commissioner further reviewed arrangements for march pass, security, drinking water facilities, refreshments, facilitations, public announcement system, and other necessary requirements. The DC called for timely follow-up on all directions to ensure a well-coordinated and respectful Independence Day celebration, keeping in view both patriotic spirit and the solemnity of Muharram
